One of the best things about aluminium and the Dorsia product range is the huge amount of choice. Colours, designs, configurations and even the choice of glass and accessories. Here's some answers to get you inspired.
What styles do I get with bifolding doors?
The entire Dorsia collection of folding sliding doors provides you with all the options when it comes to styling.
Choose the Origin OB-72 bifold when you want a more classic look, yet equally at home within a modern decor. The discreet chamfer of it's profiles is not only on-trend but it also works well if you've existing PVCu or timber windows in your home.
Even better with the OB-72 bifold is its larger size capability and an open corner design. You can even get the same matching single or French doors for a consistent look throughout.
Are all sliding doors contemporary in style?
Choose a sliding door for when you want the largest glass panels and the best views when the doors are closed.
With sizes up to 3m wide and 3m high with some Dorsia sliding doors, nothing looks better for the property project.
All sliding doors come with flatline profiles giving a more modern look. However, if you're looking for something with a classic hint, the round handles offer a more traditional take on the modern slider.
But for the ultimate in contemporary, it's the Cor-Vision slimline slider thats the best. It even comes in a Scandi or Art-Deco steel look option and it's one of the best.
How do I choose the best window style?
Aluminium windows give you the widest possible choice when it comes to styling.
If you like the classically styled option Origin OW-80 windows are distinctive and unique in appearance, thanks to their flush design inside and out. Not only do these work brilliantly replacing old timber windows but they're equally at home in a contemporary extension or new build home.
When you want the slimmest frames but with a more neutral look, the Origin OW70 product provides a great solution with a flush external and familiar stepped detail inside.
But for the most choice traditional, classic or slimline, it's the Alitherm 300 range of windows. These come with the widest choice of profiles giving you the choice of traditional, modern, slimline and even steel look.
What styles can I have with steel-look?
Steel look glazing comes in two options. One are the products specifically designed for this purpose. The other products are those coming with customisation and therefore achieving the steel look.
There's a steel look range for windows, French doors, interior doors and screens. These are dedicated systems designed in this style.
Bifolding doors and sliding doors are standard products, enhanced with the right options and accessories giving the desirable look of classic metal doors.
How do I know what sizes and styles products come in?
Our website shows an extensive selection of what's possible when you custom-design your doors with Dorsia.
Bifolding doors come in two up to 8 or more panels with typical panel sizes up to 1.2m wide and 2.7m high. Schuco bifolds go even taller.
Sliding doors come at the largest sizes with panels up to 9m2 and a maximum width or height of 3m depending on the product.
Residential doors are system dependant. For instance most doors come at around 1m maximum width and 2.2m high. But choose a bifold door as a single or French door and you get the same size capability.
For windows there's a huge amount of choice. For fixed panels it's down to the glass sizes available. For opening windows the largest opening window size is typically around 1.2x1.2m for a top hung and up to 0.6x1.2m high for a side hung opener.
